Not Training!

In my last blog, I said I was back training and that was the intension. I had a place in the Water of Leith marathon and that was going to be my focus.

Since then, I've ran a few times. I've done a 15 mile run a couple of weekends ago and it went without any issues.

I ran out to B&Q, picked up a few things I was needing and then ran back.

Not bad considering I haven't been doing long stuff.

But since then, I've maybe ran a couple of 10ks and that's about it. I have zero drive or enthusiasm for going out for a long run. I don't even have the desire to go out after work for an easy 5k.

With all that in mind, I've decided to withdraw from the marathon. I'm not even stepping down to the half marathon race. I just don't want to race.

I'm enjoying going to the Gym 3 days a week and going Bouldering 2 days a week. It's not that I don't have time to run, I do, I just don't want to.

I'm not sure what has caused this massive shift in my love for running. It feels like it has kind of happened over night, or at least, over the past couple of months. Instead of going for a run, I would much prefer to head out in to the woods with Toby and Mandy and walk for 2 hours.

We recently went up to Aberfeldy for a week and did loads of walking, most days we would walk for at least 2 hours, out along some beautiful paths and trails. Last weekend we drove to Killin (1.5 hours each way) and walked a lovely 4 mile forest walk that we saw in the newspaper.

Running just isn't high on my priorities right now.

I'm not giving up on it and I'll still write my blogs, but I just need to find the love for it again.
